DR. SARA JOHANNESMEYER

DMD

Dr. Sara Johannesmeyer was born and raised locally in Summerville, SC. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Biomedical Engineering she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.
She first served as an active-duty dentist in the US Navy for four years in Beaufort, SC, Japan (onboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan), and San Diego, CA. After completing her active-duty tour, she moved to Philadelphia, PA where her husband was stationed and began working in private practice over the next few years. She has worked in demanding clinical environments with diverse patient populations. Dr. Sara is passionate about providing excellent dental care and building strong relationships with her patients.
Recently, her family relocated back to the Lowcountry and joined CaneBay Family Dentistry. Dr. Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, kayaking, hiking, and the beach.

Dr. Ken DePolo, DMD

Dr. Ken DePolo brings passion, precision, and a commitment to excellence to his dental practice. A graduate of the prestigious Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2020.

After graduation, Dr. DePolo refined his skills in private practice in Ohio, earning a reputation for compassionate, patient-centered care. In January 2024, he and his wife embarked on a new chapter, relocating to South Carolina to embrace its vibrant community and scenic beauty.

Dedicated to giving back, Dr. DePolo has participated in numerous community outreach programs and extended his care to underserved populations abroad through Helping Hands Medical Missions.

Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, exploring the outdoors—from hiking adventures to relaxing beach days.
